Aztech Technologies
Aztech Technologies, Inc. is an environmental services business located in Ballston Spa, Saratoga County. The business headquarters consists of 24,000 square feet of newly constructed space which houses an office, shop, and warehouse.

The building boasts “state of the art” energy efficiency technologies, utilizing ground-source geothermal heating and cooling and advanced lighting. Some of the other energy efficient features include: high efficiency motors, super-insulated building envelope, and radiant floor heating.
The geothermal heating and cooling system was constructed using seven 500-foot bed rock wells for the heat sink in summer and heat source in winter. Heating/cooling is distributed using heat pump technology and is regulated by variable frequency drives on well pumps, heat pumps, and fans. R-410a is the refrigerant. Internet-based computer controls monitor outside temperature and inside conditions to control heating and air conditioning.
The projected electrical savings, compared to a conventional building, are 109,377 kWh per year with an estimated payback of less than five years. Construction costs were offset by a variety of funding sources, including low-cost loans, grants, and sales tax waivers, which will result in $200,000 in savings.
